Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 17 years of age.
• CPR/First Aid and Belaying certification required.
• Knowledge of indoor rock climbing including belaying and safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Know and enforce all climbing wall policies and procedures.
• Handle member concerns effectively and with respect.
• Visually inspect equipment and facility during opening and closing of the wall and report problems.
• Provide supervision of climbing wall participants including belaying, auto belaying and spotting climbers.
• Provide climbing instruction following YMCA established curriculum.
• Belay climbers as needed.
• Assist climbers by determining eligibility, teaching proper use of equipment, and maintaining records of attendance and certification.
• Accurately complete and file required forms and checklists.
• Know and understand emergency procedures to respond to accidents.
