Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a dedicated rock climbing instructor to plan and lead classes, ensuring safety and providing participants with helpful guidance and excellent service.

Responsibilities include managing equipment, handling safety and emergencies, and building positive relationships with children, parents, and other adults while upholding our core values. First aid/CPR within 90 days; belay training within 30 days; 1+ year climbing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety rules for program area.
• First aid and CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of Y Belay training within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year of rock climbing/belay experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead classes independently, respond to safety and emergencies, and motivate members.
• Demonstrate clear communication and an engaging personality to relate to participants.
• Develop positive interpersonal relationships with children, parents, and other adults in the program.
