Job summary

YMCA Robin Hood Group is seeking a Climbing Instructor for the Climbing Centre at Newark. You will engage climbers of all ages, deliver a varied timetable, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment that encourages personal growth and confidence.

The role requires a CWI/RCI qualification, strong communication, and the ability to manage groups. Shifts run across days, evenings, and weekends, with a flexible rota discussed on hire.

Qualifications

• Must hold Climbing Wall (CWI) or Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI) qualification.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage and instruct groups of climbers safely.

Responsibilities

• Interact positively with climbers and visitors to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Lead and support all sessions: boulder tots, youth, NICAS, Wild Climbers, Clip n climb, adult coaching, community sessions.
• Open and close the Climbing Center as part of the team.
• Handle enquiries, bookings, registers, and email communications.
