Position Overview

Assist in trimming and removing trees, including unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs, to promote the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Learn to climb trees (training provided).
• Operate as part of a tree crew while developing new skills.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal safely and effectively, including:
• Tree identification and industry pruning guidelines.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in hazardous tree removal.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• Love of the outdoors.
• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree training and safety programs upon hire.
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses are a plus if required by law.
