The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Climbing Arborist Trainee for on-site work in Lombard, IL. You will be part of a tree crew, starting with climbing and learning pruning and removal techniques, while ensuring safety and quality for clients.

You’ll receive comprehensive training including Davey Tree Orientation, First Aid/CPR, and defensive driving; pesticide licenses are preferred where required by state law.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is essential.
• Completion of Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Completion of Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred pesticide/licensing as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees as part of a crew and learn progressively.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Identify trees and follow pruning guidelines; prune and remove deadwood in canopy.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees and maintain all tools and equipment.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related equipment.
• Growth potential depends on performance and initiative.
