The Davey Tree Expert Company in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to lead a crew and deliver arboricultural services outdoors on a permanent basis.

You will direct tasks, operate equipment, and mentor team members in a safety-focused environment, with opportunities for career development and advancement within a large employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is essential.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred licenses/certifications: ISA Arborist, ISA Tree Worker, TCIA Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Directs crew members and equipment and plans and executes assigned work.
• Lead a crew in arboricultural care for clients.
• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS as applicable.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Position Overview

pay $28.-$37./hr depending on experience

Directs crew members and equipment and plans and executes assigned work or tasks by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications
