The Davey Tree Expert Company in Solon, OH is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to direct a crew and execute arboricultural tasks outdoors. You will mentor crew, manage equipment and uphold safety standards on each job.

The role offers a path through Davey Career Development and opportunities across locations. Responsibilities include leading pruning, cabling, removal of hazards, and installing protective systems while maintaining all tools and safety gear.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and outdoors work ethic.
• Must complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses and certificates.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Directs crew members and equipment and plans and executes assigned work.
• Lead a crew to provide arboricultural care for clients.
• Follow H.O.P.E. processes for jobsite hazards, obstacles, planning and equipment.
• Prune, thinning and remove deadwood in canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Mentor crew members through the Career Development Program.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).

Job Duties

What You’ll Do

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
