Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to guide an on-site crew in delivering high-quality tree care for clients. You’ll oversee climbing operations using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS, supervise equipment use, and mentor crew members on safety and professional growth.

Core requirements include a love of the outdoors, completion of Davey orientations and safety trainings, and preferred ISA/TCIA certifications.

Qualifications

• Must complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses and related certificates.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew in arboricultural care for clients on-site.
• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Prune, thin and remove deadwood in canopy; install cables, bracing, and lightning protection.
• Ensure safety and efficiency on every job; remove hazardous trees when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
