The Davey Tree Expert Company in Richardson, TX is seeking an enthusiastic Climbing Arborist to join our outdoor team. You will work with a crew to prune and remove trees, using climbing systems and industry-leading safety practices.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• 1 year tree climbing experience.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Licenses/certificates related to pesticides may be required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using approved systems (DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS) and work with ground crew.
• Perform pruning, removal and related services for clients safely and skillfully.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection as part of tree care.
• Maintain tools and equipment such as chainsaws and chippers.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• 1 year tree climbing experience
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
