Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in King of Prussia, PA is seeking a Climbing Arborist to trim and remove trees and to safeguard health and safety of trees and surrounding areas.

You'll work outdoors daily, using various climbing systems and equipment while collaborating with a ground crew and foreman to deliver high-quality arboricultural services.

Qualifications

• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Love of the outdoors.
• Complete Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Prune and remove trees and hazardous limbs, ensuring safety and quality.
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and foreman.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems as needed.
• Operate tools including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts with safety and efficiency.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services for clients.

Position Overview

Climbing Arborist

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees

or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• How high you grow depends on you!
• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts

and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
