Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in King of Prussia, PA is seeking a Climbing Arborist to perform tree pruning, removal, and health-focused interventions in outdoor environments.

You will work with a team to complete safe pruning, limb removal, and hazard mitigation while using climbing systems and standard equipment. This role emphasizes safety, skill, and teamwork in a field-based setting.

Qualifications

• Forestry, horticulture, landscaping background is preferred.
• Willingness to complete safety and orientation programs upon hire.
• Love of the outdoors and physical work in outdoor settings.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning and removal safely and skillfully.
• Operate as part of a crew with ground staff and foreman.
• Install or maintain safety systems, cables, braces, and lightning protection as needed.
• Remove hazardous trees and prune/diminish deadwood throughout canopies.
• Maintain and operate tools such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Climbing Arborist

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• How high you grow depends on you!


• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.


• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.


• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.


• Including but not limited to:


• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy


• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems


• Removal of hazardous trees


• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts

and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights


• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire


• Love of the outdoors


• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire


• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
