Job summary

Distinctive Tree Care is seeking an experienced Climber in Massachusetts to join our safety‑minded team. You will climb, prune, and remove trees, using ropes, ropes, and specialized gear, while operating chainsaws and rigging equipment.

You will evaluate tree health and work with a crew to complete jobs efficiently under OSHA standards. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in arboriculture, valid licenses, and the ability to lift 50+ lbs in all weather.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years in tree climbing or professional arboriculture.
• Familiar with ANSI and OSHA safety standards for tree work.
• Valid license (CDL preferred).
• ISA Certified Arborist or TCIA credentials (preferred).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions.
• Proficiency in operating and servicing all required tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using proper techniques for pruning, removal, and maintenance.
• Perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal tasks following industry best practices.
• Safely operate chainsaws, rigging gear, aerial lifts, and other equipment.
• Assess tree health and determine the best approach for maintenance or removal.
• Work closely with the crew and Foreman to ensure efficient job completion.
• Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Assist with ground operations, cleanup, and debris removal when needed.
• Communicate with clients professionally when required.

Climber Summary

• Gripping, climbing, balancing, pulling, and pushing.
• Climbing on and off trucks.
