Job summary

Bread & Roses Community Fund in Philadelphia is seeking a Climate Justice Fund Program Associate to support a community-driven grantmaking process launching in 2025. The role reports to the director of programs and focuses on relationship-building, administering grants, and stewarding resources.

The candidate will coordinate with community partners, manage a high volume of work, facilitate processes, and align with climate justice goals in the Philly area, with occasional evenings and weekends

Job description

The Climate Justice Fund Program Associate will support Bread & Roses Community Fund’s Climate Justice Fund, which is being designed through a community-driven process in 2024 and will begin grantmaking in 2025. This position reports to the director of programs.

The Program Associate will be responsible for: building and managing relationships, managing community-led grantmaking, administering the climate justice fund, stewarding Bread & Roses resources, and other duties as assigned.

Required skills: grassroots community organizing (5+years), familiarity with climate justice work in the Philly area, relationship building, effective facilitation, experience with managing a high volume of work, project management, clear communication skills, attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and mission alignment.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Philadelphia office, with potential for hybrid work as team needs allow. Our regular hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and this position requires working occasional evenings and weekends.

A minimum of five years of full-time work experience is desired.
