Job summary

The Town of Groton, CT seeks a Sustainability and Resilience Manager to lead the Sustainability and Resilience division within the Planning, Development, and Public Works Department. This exempt, full-time role focuses on implementing Climate Ready Groton and advancing carbon reduction across town operations.

The successful candidate will manage grants, engage diverse stakeholders, and integrate climate projections into municipal projects to ensure cost savings and resilience for the community.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Sustainability, Planning, Environmental Science, Sustainable Business, Engineering, Public Administration or related field.
• 8+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of climate change and Climate Action Plans implementation.
• Community engagement and partnership development.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Sustainability and Resilience division within the Department of Planning, Development, and Public Works.
• Develop and implement Climate Ready Groton; drive projects across town with focus on carbon reduction.
• Manage multiple grants and partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
