JP Morgan Chase is seeking a Client Tax Operations Associate within the Brokerage Operations team to help ensure accurate United States information reporting and withholding processes. The role focuses on analyzing data, executing controls, and driving efficiency through automation while delivering reliable outcomes and a strong client experience.

The ideal candidate will have a finance or analytics background, strong Excel skills, and experience with data querying tools such as SQL or Alteryx.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions, lookups, and pivot tables.
• Ability to learn data analytics and automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, SQL).
• Ability to analyze datasets, identify exceptions, and document findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial and transactional data relevant to United States information reporting and withholding
• Build and maintain reports that monitor data accuracy, timeliness, and exceptions
• Identify trends and discrepancies, document findings, and recommend remediation actions
• Execute standardized workflows for cost basis processing and related reconciliations
• Perform daily controls, manage exceptions, and resolve breaks with clear audit trails
• Track key performance indicators and service level commitments, escalating risks as needed
• Apply applicable tax rules and industry standards to support ongoing compliance
• Support automation and process improvement initiatives by drafting queries, assisting with workflow design, and participating in testing
• Reconcile data across systems, investigate root causes of discrepancies, and implement preventive actions
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to communicate insights, changes, and operational updates
