Client Site Liaison II (Laboratory Send Outs Technician)

Primary Purpose: This position works at the client site St Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK, acting as a liaison between the client and ARUP’s divisions including Client Relations, Training, Business Development, Technical, Marketing, and Support Services such as Specimen Processing, IT, Logistics, Quality, and Compliance. The Client Liaison II resolves issues related to specimen submissions and serves as a resource for client inquiries.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk), 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM

About ARUP:

ARUP Laboratories is a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory, part of the University of Utah. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, we are committed to diversity, professional growth, and excellence, serving over one million patients monthly.

Essential Functions:
  • Handle, label, and process specimens per ARUP protocols.
  • Prepare specimens for transport following DOT and IATA guidelines.
  • Maintain current Certification for Handling, Packing, and Shipping Infectious Substances.
  • Detect and resolve test or specimen submission issues prior to shipping.
  • Coordinate communication between the client site and ARUP.
  • Provide clients with information regarding specimen requirements, fees, turnaround times, and vendors.
  • Distribute technical information, updates, and promote ARUP services like ATOP, Connect, and Consult.
  • Research pending test lists.
  • Follow SOPs and maintain supplies and records.
  • Ensure compliance with CAP, NY, and other regulatory standards.
  • Maintain courier relationships and shipment schedules.
  • Operate with competence in LIS, ARUP Connect, and other systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical and Other Requirements:
  • Ability to stoop, reach, move between sites, and communicate frequently.
  • Use PPE in a biohazard environment.
  • Perform sedentary work and fine motor tasks.
Qualifications:

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent, with at least 1 year of clinical lab experience in specimen processing, phlebotomy, or related fields. Type 30 WPM.

Preferred: Associates or Bachelor's in Biological Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technician certification, experience with ARUP systems, and comprehensive specimen processing experience.
