Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is seeking a Regular Part Time counselor to assist clients with counseling, advocacy, and guidance in Los Angeles, CA.

You will assess client needs, develop care plans, and help clients reach personal goals. Responsibilities include coordinating services, making referrals for financial assistance, advocating with government agencies, reassessing progress, and documenting outcomes.

Qualifications

• Completion of two years of college required plus one to three years of related experience.
• Counseling and assessment techniques.
• Plan short- and long-range activities.
• Maintain accurate and orderly records.
• Display sensitivity, tact, and responsiveness in various situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates delivery of services by making referrals to clients in need of emergency food, shelter, clothing, rental assistance, transportation, medical, and special needs.
• Advocates with government agencies to obtain public assistance.
• Reassesses clients to determine progress.
• Participates in outreach programs and represents the program at community meetings.
• Helps prepare reports, requisitions and statistics.
• Provides regular evaluation of client programs to ensure progress.
• Supervise volunteers and intake personnel providing client services.
• Promotes continuous quality improvement and service delivery aligned with the Agency’s mission.
