Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago is seeking a data-centric Analyst to support investor data onboarding and capital activity workflows. You will ensure data integrity across CRM and accounting systems, and assist with capital calls, distributions, and partner accounting.

Collaborate with fund accounting, client servicing, and compliance teams; perform data validation and reconciliations, generate routine reporting, and contribute to process improvements while adhering to risk and control standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Experience in financial services, data management, or investor onboarding preferred.
  • Strong analytical and data validation skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Capture, analyze, and input investor data into CRM systems with accuracy.
  • Maintain investor records, including tax identifiers, contact info, and account hierarchies.
  • Support capital activity processing: capital calls, distributions, and partner accounting.
  • Reconcile data between CRM, accounting, and reporting outputs; escalate discrepancies.

Executes client account servicing activities as requested by partners within appropriate time frames, including but not limited to the processing of updating client databases, preparing required documentation, opening and closing accounts, meeting preparation, maintenance of accurate and complete account records, imaging of documents, funds transfer and researching of client issues.2. Develops a strong understanding of required steps involved with each request, communicating with relationship management and operations teams as appropriate to obtain necessary information to properly execute the requested activity.3. Addresses the requirements of each activity in a timely fashion and in strict adherence with Northern Trust and Wealth Management Risk Management and Compliance guidelines and procedures, promptly escalating any issues and/or concerns to management.4. Reviews and maintains client records and information on all applicable client servicing systems, ensuring appropriate and required documentation is collected and imaged.5. Develops a strong knowledge of the various business applications critical to client and account servicing, including on-line tools.6. Where appropriate, strives to identify service efficiency and delivery enhancements, as well as process improvements7. Keeps abreast of new or existing Northern Trust and Wealth Management products, services and compliance requirements.Knowledge :Knowledge of investment, banking and/or personal trust and advisory operations, products and services usually acquired through related work experience is preferred in order to assist relationship management teams in processing clients¿ servicing needs. Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills are required to identify, research and/or resolve requests, as well as to manage conflicting priorities and workflow.Experience :2-3 years’ experience in financial and/or client servicing experience preferred.Role SummaryThe Analyst is responsible for the accurate setup, maintenance, and validation of investor data within designated CRM platforms, while supporting core transfer agency and capital activity processes, including capital calls, distributions, and partner accounting. This role ensures data integrity, operational accuracy, and adherence to established procedures and control frameworks across investor onboarding and fund activity workflows. The Analyst works under general supervision and collaborates with internal teams and clients to support day-to-day operational activities and routine inquiries.Key ResponsibilitiesCapture, analyze, and input investor data from source documentation (e.g., subscription agreements, onboarding forms) into CRM systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all required fieldsEstablish and maintain investor records, including legal entity details, tax identifiers, contact information, banking instructions, and account hierarchiesMaintain and update CRM data to support downstream processes, including capital activity, reporting, and client servicingSupport capital activity processing, including capital calls, distributions, and partner accounting workflowsAssist in preparing and validating partner capital account statements and related reportingEnsure investor allocations, commitments, and transaction data are accurately reflected across systemsReconcile investor-level data between CRM, accounting systems, and reporting outputs to ensure alignment and accuracyPerform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance checks across investor data and transaction recordsIdentify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies within established guidelines; escalate more complex issues as appropriateGenerate and deliver routine reporting and data extracts, including investor data reports, capital activity support files, and management information outputsCollaborate with internal stakeholders (fund accounting, client servicing, compliance) and engage with clients on routine inquiries related to investor data and capital activitySupport investor onboarding and ongoing lifecycle maintenance in alignment with operational procedures and control standardsContribute to process improvement initiatives, including standardization, workflow optimization, and automationMaintain process documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies, risk management standards, and regulatory requirementsKnowledge & SkillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skillsHigh attention to detail with a strong control mindsetEffective communication skills and the ability to work independentlyWorking knowledge of financial services, private equity structures, or investor onboarding processes preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, and reportingQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experienceRelevant experience in financial services, data management, fund accounting, or investor onboarding preferredApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
