CDM Smith seeks a Client Service Leader to steer our North Transportation Group in Pennsylvania. You will drive transportation planning, design and CEI services while expanding our client base and strengthening existing relationships with SEPTA, PRT, PennDOT and others.

You will lead a team, set strategic directions, and represent the firm on transportation boards. This role requires travel and strong leadership within our PA offices in Pittsburgh or Harrisburg.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 12 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • Equival ent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement new business strategies in the PA transportation market, maintaining key client relationships.
  • Develop and manage client teams to create strategic capture plans and proposals.

Job Description

CDM Smith currently has a new opportunity for a Client Service Leader within our North Transportation Group to lead our Pennsylvania Transportation practice. In this position, you will work with a dynamic team to continue building our transportation business. You will lead the development of a business strategy for the increase of sales with our existing clients and developing new clients in Pittsburgh and across Pennsylvania. This will include all aspects of transit planning, transportation design, construction management and program management services. This position leads the business development activities, oversees overall client service, represent CDM Smith on transportation related boards or organizations, and serve as a leader in your office and throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement new business strategies in the Pennsylvania transportation market while maintaining the relationships with decision makers and senior leaders with the current CDM Smith client base. Specific focus on SEPTA, Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT), , PennDOT Central Office, PennDOT Districts 4, 5, 8 and 11 as well as the Pennsylvania Turnpike with emphasis on full-service delivery of planning, engineering, and CEI services.
  • Developing and managing client teams that include project managers, technical specialists, national leaders, as well as junior staff to develop strategic capture plans, proposal efforts, presentations, and other efforts of business development.
  • Lead effective sales activities including identifying clients and effectively working with other members of the client service team to develop winning pursuit strategies, proposals and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the transportation leadership team to achieve annual revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Implement procedures to improve client satisfaction and opportunities for repeat business through excellent execution, teaching, coaching, and implementation of "lessons learned".
  • Serving as a key member of our strategy team promoting growth in Pennsylvania as well as supporting other North Group growth initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical or project lead as needed on projects of significant size and strategic importance.
  • Be active in professional societies in which clients or potential clients are members.
  • Be a strong leader internally and externally.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 12 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional engineering (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license.
  • Previous experience managing and/or winning transportation projects with SEPTA, PRT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, PennDOT and/or airport services , strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in business development, assisting with the proposal process and presenting/meeting with transit clients, strongly preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate established relationships within the regional transportation and transit community.

Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.

Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
