This is a remote position. Only considering candidates who reside in one of these markets: Twin Cities area, MN; Grand Forks or Fargo, ND; or Phoenix, AZ.

Hours: Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm Central Time.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Client Service Center Associate answers incoming calls from retirement plan and health benefit participants, providing support, troubleshooting, and information to ensure efficient service. The role focuses on being a single point of contact for client support regarding Alerus products.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  1. Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries via phone, email, and chat, covering topics like retirement provisions, IRS and DOL regulations, distributions, contributions, investments, balances, and claims.
  2. Communicate professionally and clearly.
  3. Explain the use of Alerus websites and mobile apps.
  4. Maintain knowledge of financial services, systems, and software (AdminWeb, Salesforce, IBM Notes, Wex).
  5. Understand and communicate retirement plan documents, adoption agreements, and loan policies.
  6. Explain health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, and health reimbursement arrangements regulations.
  7. Stay updated on all Alerus products, services, and processes.
  8. Build customer relationships by informing clients of relevant products and services.
  9. Support a positive work environment and team goals.
  10. Meet performance standards and notify managers if standards are not met.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  1. At least 1+ years in employee benefits, customer service, or accounting/bookkeeping (preferred).
  2. Experience related to financial services (preferred).
  3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  4. Ability to prioritize, be self-motivated, and manage multiple tasks.
  5. Adaptability to a fast-paced, technology-centered environment.
