Key Responsibilities
- Physical Settlements Processing: Review and process physical settlement transactions, including trades involving physical certificates and related documentation
- Documentation Review: Read, comprehend, and interpret various settlement and certificate documents to determine requirements and ensure proper handling
- Reconciliation Support: Gather required information from multiple applications and internal contacts to complete market value reconciliations and related control processes
- Control & Accuracy Oversight: Review cash, position, and market value sheets, identify discrepancies, and upscale issues to senior team members immediately
- Task Execution & Peer Checks: Ensure all daily and monthly responsibilities are completed on time while maintaining peer checks across team processes
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with client service representatives, reconciliation teams, controllers, and senior managers to resolve questions and obtain required information
- Process Improvement Mindset: Bring fresh ideas to improve workflows, reduce manual effort, and identify opportunities to enhance processes using digital and AI-enabled tools
- Application & Access Support: Help ensure team members have access to the applications required to perform their responsibilities effectively
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in trade settlements, securities operations, or related financial services operations roles
- Strong understanding of trade flow, trade processing, and settlement operations
- Experience working with physical certificates and/or documentation-heavy operational processes
- Proven ability to identify discrepancies, exercise sound judgment, and upscale issues appropriately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a control-focused environment
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and teams to complete operational tasks
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, finance, or a related field
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with bonds, stock powers, incumbency certificates, or similar financial documentation
- Experience supporting market value reconciliations, cash and position reviews, or similar control functions
- Exposure to process improvement, workflow enhancement, or automation initiatives using AI
