Job summary

UBS is seeking a Client Onboarding Specialist in Raleigh to support Global Banking onboarding for capital markets and corporate financing transactions. You will complete KYC, regulatory, and tax onboarding, gather and review information, and ensure AML obligations are satisfied in a timely manner.

You’ll work with deal teams and clients to obtain required documentation and keep systems updated through every stage of the process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of client onboarding, KYC/AML, or financial services operations preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities.

Your role

Are you a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment?

As a Client Onboarding Specialist, you will support Global Banking by executing the client onboarding process for clients involved in capital markets and corporate financing transactions. This includes completing the required Know Your Customer (KYC), regulatory, and tax onboarding requirements, and working with clients and internal stakeholders to gather, review, and validate the necessary information. Your work ensures clients are fully onboarded into our platform ahead of deal execution, and that all AML and regulatory obligations are satisfied in a timely and compliant manner.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing onboarding requests assigned by the pipeline manager and entering key transaction and client details into the case workflow tool


• Conducting preliminary research to understand the client, using internal systems and publicly available information


• Determining onboarding requirements and preparing accurate client outreach requests


• Coordinating with clients, their counsel, and internal Global Banking deal teams to obtain required documentation and information ahead of a transaction


• Keeping the workflow tool updated throughout the onboarding process to reflect the accurate stage of the case, including outreach status and any changes to deal timelines


• Proactively communicating with deal teams to align on changes to transaction timelines or scope, and providing clear updates on onboarding progress to ensure transparency throughout the process


• Performing screening on clients and related parties, reviewing adverse media, and escalating matters to Financial Crime Prevention when required


• Preparing complete onboarding files, addressing approver feedback, and ensuring all documentation and data capture meet internal standards


• Acting as a single point of contact for the deal teams to ensure the client onboarding process is completed ahead of transaction timelines

• Raleigh, Nashville: the salary range for this role is $57500 to $72500

You’ll be part of the Client Onboarding team based in Raleigh, North Carolina, aligned with the Investment Bank. Our team supports Global Banking transactions across multiple products and serves as part of the First Line of Defense, responsible for the KYC due diligence required for the initial onboarding of client relationships.

Your expertise

We are looking for someone with:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.


• Ideally 1-3 years of prior experience in client onboarding, KYC/AML, or financial services operations (preferred)


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment


• Client-centric mindset with strong attention to detail


• Ability to analyze documentation and problem-solve effectively


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn internal systems and tools

Salary information

The indicative gross base salary range as a full-time equivalent role:

• United States - North Carolina - Raleigh min USD 55000 - max USD 62000 /annum
