Client Office Phlebotomist-FLOAT-Part-time Days RM $1500 Sign-on Bonus

Position Details
  • This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, specializing in phlebotomy. Flexibility to work including two weekends per month is required.
  • Must be comfortable driving to client sites in Lake in the Hills and surrounding areas.
  • Base hourly rate includes float differential compensation.
  • Internal and rehire candidates are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age-related standards.
  • Provide appropriate post-phlebotomy patient care.
  • Identify needs for patient medical assistance and call code as appropriate.
  • Review and record refrigerator temperatures and QC/QA records, report concerns, and perform corrective actions as needed.
  • Use manual requisitions, label, and process specimens according to protocols.
  • Procure blood specimens from diverse patient groups, demonstrating competency for age-related responsibilities.
  • Understand operation and maintenance of relevant equipment.
  • Follow up on outstanding orders, communicate with staff, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Order laboratory tests accurately in computer systems.
  • Prioritize tasks and multitask efficiently.
  • Maintain a low recollection or cancellation rate, follow safety protocols, and present a professional demeanor.
  • Provide accurate information to patients, address questions promptly, and demonstrate teamwork.
  • Use resources efficiently, manage schedules, and participate in process improvements.
  • Ensure specimen procurement problems are communicated and follow-up on test results professionally.
  • Stay updated on information, maintain a safe work environment, and adhere to safety and organizational policies.
  • Perform clerical duties related to lab specimens and work independently as needed.
  • Travel to additional sites when required.
Qualifications
Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification from a recognized organization or training, or one year of healthcare experience in phlebotomy.
Preferred:
  • Experience with diverse patient populations, lab processing, EMR systems, and medical terminology.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
