We are seeking a dynamic and driven Client Manager to join our Ports and Harbors team. This role involves managing client relationships, leading new business development, and expanding opportunities within complex environmental programs. You will leverage existing connections to develop new business, stay informed on relevant regulations, lead proposal development, and maintain long-term client relationships. The role also requires ensuring client satisfaction, collaborating with project managers, and participating in strategic planning. Ideal candidates will be located in the Midwest, Northeast, or Southeast US; or Bay Area, California, with 25% travel.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Drive Business Development: Use your existing relationships to identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with Foth’s market approach, ensuring a steady pipeline of projects.
  2. Lead Proposals and Presentations: Develop and deliver compelling proposals that demonstrate understanding of client needs and market dynamics.
  3. Foster Long-Term Relationships: Build and maintain lasting client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
  4. Strategic Selling: Develop strategies to address client risks and stakeholder concerns, positioning Foth as a trusted partner.
  5. Ensure Project Success: Collaborate with project managers and clients to deliver successful project outcomes from start to finish.
  6. Stay Informed: Keep current on regulations affecting waterfront facilities to ensure compliance and strategic advantage.
  7. Strategic Planning: Participate in initiatives to align with Foth’s market strategy.
  8. Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and project management support, including design-build opportunities.
  9. Mentor and Coach: Guide team members to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering consulting in the public or private sector
  • Experience with marine, waterfront, coastal, dredging, or resiliency projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering consulting
  • Proven success in business development within port & harbor infrastructure and dredging markets
  • Track record of developing and maintaining clients
  • Technical leadership in complex projects, including design calculations, site plans, and technical reports
  • Experience with design/build project development
