Drug Development Inside Sales Coordinator Responsibilities:

The Inside Sales Representative supports the sales cycle by lead generation and management. Responsibilities include identifying and qualifying potential customers through various channels, building relationships to understand and meet client needs, and working with business development and account managers to achieve sales targets.

  • Qualify leads from digital marketing campaigns, conferences, references, tradeshows, etc.
  • Follow up on existing cold and warm leads to re-engage them in the sales process.
  • Participate in lead generation strategies, such as cold calling/emailing, to identify prospects and maintain a list of potential customers.
  • Research potential leads via directories, web searches, or digital resources.
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, providing technical information, and preparing quotations.
  • Develop existing accounts by analyzing purchase history, suggesting related or new items, and explaining technical features.
  • Perform gap analysis in stagnant or inactive accounts.
  • Follow up proactively with customers for feedback and satisfaction, and adjust pitches accordingly.
  • Maintain logs of customer contacts, outcomes, and follow-up issues.
  • Track sales performance metrics regularly.
  • Build pipelines with channel partners and team members to close sales.
  • Collaborate across departments to improve product offerings, sales strategies, and marketing.
  • Provide feedback to Business Development, Product, and Marketing teams.
  • Analyze competitors and industry trends.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and assist with data cleanup.
  • Input and update leads, contacts, and opportunities in the CRM.
  • Participate in trade shows and related activities.
  • Perform other duties and lead special projects as assigned.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Biology, Chemistry, drug discovery, or related discipline; BS required, MS preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in drug discovery.
  • B2B sales experience, preferably in CRO or life sciences.
  • Experience interfacing with clients in a science-based company preferred.
  • Inside sales or related sales experience preferred.
  • Laboratory experience in drug discovery research or sales preferred.
  • Client-facing experience such as inside sales, market development, or client services.
  • Ability to work remotely with high-speed internet and secure workspace.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely without restrictions or sponsorship.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and achieve objectives.
  • Strong understanding of customer needs and solutions.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, social media, web applications, and CRM.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Resilience and persistence in outreach efforts.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Deep understanding of drug discovery industry and sales process.
  • Energetic, outgoing, and customer-centric demeanor.
  • Eager to expand sales, clients, and territories.

Position is full-time, remote, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates near St Charles, MO, or Madison, WI, are encouraged to apply.
