Job summary

Invisible is seeking a Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to work directly with clients and delivery teams, scoping problems, prototyping AI workflows, and deploying scalable systems on top of our products. The role blends AI engineering, software building, and technical consulting in a hybrid setting with hands-on model work and client impact.

You’ll collaborate with delivery leaders, design AI-powered workflows, handle real-world constraints, and iterate quickly with operators.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software/ML engineering experience in professional, internship, or research settings.
• Strong Python skills with experience in ML libraries and APIs.
• Experience with data pipelines, APIs, and production deployment (Docker, FastAPI, cloud).
• Ability to build usable systems from messy data and ambiguous requirements.
• Strong communication to explain decisions to teams and clients.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in fast-moving environments.
• Willingness to be on-call for customers and travel for on-site engagements.

Responsibilities

• Scope technical solutions with delivery leaders for operational problems.
• Engage with customer problems to identify workflow optimizations and build scalable solutions.
• Design and implement AI-powered workflows using LLMs, embeddings, retrieval systems, and automation tools.
• Translate real-world constraints into elegant engineering solutions.
• Iterate quickly based on real-time feedback from operators and clients.
• Build reusable tooling and infrastructure to accelerate future deployments.
