Job summary

Northwestern Mutual - Metro Detroit is seeking a Client Experience Associate to support the wealth management team, focusing on building the practice and delivering exemplary client service. The role ensures an efficient, organized office and acts as a liaison between the network office and home office as well as the financial representative and clients.

Qualifications

  • Health and Life licensed or gain licensing within 6 months of employment
  • Financial Service or Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Experience in administrative support or customer service, preferably in the financial services and/or insurance industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications and data entry and information retrieval software
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to proactively identify what needs to be accomplished and take action as appropriate
  • Has interest in learning on a continuous basis
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Gather required information and instructions from the wealth management team and enter data into financial planning software.
  • Review paperwork, applications, policy changes, and service requests for completeness and accuracy; follow up on missing information as needed.
  • File and maintain client statements, account forms, insurance, and investment-related documents.
  • Answer and route telephone calls as appropriate.
  • Prepare meeting materials, proposals, reports, and other documentation in support of client and prospect meetings.
  • Contact clients regarding forms, account updates, and other service-related matters while maintaining accurate client records.
  • Initiate transfers, exchanges, redemptions, and other transactions as directed by the Registered Representative.
  • Receive and forward checks and related documentation to the appropriate network and home office departments.
  • Coordinate with network offices, NMIS, fund families, and internal teams to resolve client account issues.
  • Provide account values and performance information to clients at the advisor’s direction.
  • Help create, organize and execute various client appreciation initiatives.
