Job summary

IMA Financial Group in Pasadena, CA seeks an experienced Client Advisor to manage complex client accounts, advise on coverage, and lead renewal strategies. You will collaborate with carriers, negotiate terms, and mentor junior team members to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications include 7+ years in related roles, a Property and Casualty license, and strong MS Office and agency management system proficiency. This is a full-time, on-site position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of similar or related experience; advanced industries experience preferred.
  • Property and Casualty license required for state of business and must fulfill continuing education requirement to retain license.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Daily account servicing and client advisement needs including handling inquiries, resolving coverage and premium discrepancy issues, maintaining account information in agency management system, processing endorsements, audits, certificates of insurance, and auto ID cards.
  • Cultivates and maintains communication with clients and insurance carriers and interacts professionally via email, phone, and in person.
  • Leads renewal process on assigned book including pre-renewal summaries, renewal applications, online quoting, negotiating terms and premiums, and issuing renewal documents.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to Client Advisors regarding renewal strategies, client retention, problem solving, and account management.
  • Provides technical expertise and strategic guidance to sales staff and leads insurance topic trainings.
  • Participates in cross-selling new lines of coverage or services on existing accounts.

Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA Select’s core values

  • Responsibility for daily account servicing and client advisement needs including but not limited to handling client and insurance company inquiries, resolving coverage and premium discrepancy issues, maintaining accurate account information in agency management system, processing of endorsements, audits, certificates of insurance, and auto ID cards, etc.
  • Cultivates and maintains excellent communication and relationships with clients and insurance carriers
  • Interacts professionally and timely with clients via email, phone, and in-person
  • Develops remarketing strategy in accordance with client servicing standards and market changes
  • Responsibility for managing renewal process on assigned book of business including preparation of pre-renewal summary, creating renewal applications and submissions, online quoting via carrier rating platforms, reviewing quotes and negotiating terms and premiums, preparing final quotes and proposals for delivery to client, binding coverage, and issuing renewal invoices, certificates, auto ID cards, etc.
  • Must be comfortable leading conference calls and/or in-person client meetings independently of producer or manager to review insurance strategies and business operations
  • Assists with the onboarding and training of new associates
  • Serves as a mentor and subject matter expert by providing guidance to Client Advisors and Sr. Client Advisors regarding renewal strategies, client retention, problem solving, and overall account management and client satisfaction
  • Provides technical expertise and strategic guidance and assistance to sales staff
  • Develops and/or leads various insurance topic training sessions for associates across all markets
  • Participates in cross-selling new lines of coverage or services on existing accounts
  • Responsibility for following up on accounts receivable items in accordance with IMA Accounts Receivable Policy
  • Attends education classes in combination with individual study programs to expand technical coverage knowledge

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSinclude but are not limited to:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently regarding matters of significance
  • Ability to manage the most sophisticated and complex accounts
  • Ability to analyze insurance quotes and make recommendations

  • Knowledge of policy forms and endorsements
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Math skills required, involving familiarity with ratios, percentages, discounts, and commissions
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products
  • Minimum 7 years of similar or related experience; advanced industries experience preferred
  • Property and Casualty license required for state of business and must fulfill continuing education requirement to retain license

Salary Range

$140,000-160,000 USD
