Client Director – Employee Health & Benefits

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) provides business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions to organizations and individuals. With offices across North America, we combine the personalized service model of a local consultant with the global resources of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC).

This role supports the Employee Health & Benefits team and is based in Michigan with flexibility to work from Troy, Grand Rapids, or Livonia.

Responsibilities

As our Client Director on the Employee Health & Benefits team, you will have overall responsibility for the client relationship within an assigned book-of-business. This involves establishing and maintaining excellent internal and external relationships, understanding the client’s needs, and managing the team responsible for delivering all aspects of our services. While the Client Director does not have direct new business sales responsibilities, you are expected to participate in the sales process, maintain a high client retention rate, and manage a book of business that meets or exceeds target expectations over time.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree, preferably in business.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years industry experience in an insurance agency, consulting firm, group insurance carrier or related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage senior level client executives and cultivate the client relationship.
  • Strong working knowledge of the group benefits industry, particularly in financial and strategic planning areas.
  • Strong leadership, persuasion, communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a team leadership role.
  • Self-directed, organized and resourceful.
  • Must have and maintain a valid license to sell life and health insurance in the State of Michigan.
