Location: This is a remote position with a strong preference for candidates based in Minnesota. Mercury Creative Group is headquartered in Minneapolis, and in-person collaboration is expected.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None (individual contributor)

SUMMARY

The Client Delivery Lead is responsible for orchestrating the successful delivery of Mercury’s client engagements. This role creates clarity, momentum, and accountability across projects, ensuring clients experience Mercury as one unified team.

Working closely with the Director of Client Services, Director of Brand Strategy, Design Director, and Mercury’s marketing team, the Client Delivery Lead coordinates people, priorities, timelines, and communication to ensure every client engagement is delivered with clarity, consistency, and excellence.

While serving as the day-to-day leader for assigned client engagements, this role partners with the Director of Client Strategy on overall account direction and long-term client growth. The Client Delivery Lead removes obstacles, protects scope, drives execution, and ensures every client always knows the next right step.

The Client Delivery Lead balances operational excellence with relationship building, helping clients feel supported while protecting Mercury’s quality, profitability, and reputation.

DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the day-to-day lead for assigned client engagements, coordinating multiple concurrent projects, budgets, and timelines.
  • Build trusted working relationships with clients while partnering with the Director of Client Strategy on executive-level strategy and long-term account growth.
  • Lead client meetings with confidence and clarity, ensuring alignment on goals, priorities, deliverables, and next steps.
  • Anticipate client needs, risks, and roadblocks, proactively identifying solutions before issues escalate.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen client partnerships and collaborate with the Director of Client Strategy on expansion conversations.
Project + Delivery Management
  • Oversee project planning and execution across accounts, ensuring work is delivered on time, on scope, and on budget.
  • Manage active Statements of Work (SOWs), including scope tracking, budget awareness, and change coordination.
  • Serve as the “general contractor” for client work—aligning internal teams, external partners, and vendors around shared priorities.
  • Maintain momentum across workstreams by driving accountability, clarifying ownership, and removing obstacles.
  • Apply the Mercury Method™ consistently while adapting to evolving client needs and priorities.
Cross-Functional Coordination + Communication
  • Serve as the central point of coordination between clients and Mercury’s internal teams.
  • Communicate proactively to create visibility, manage expectations, and keep projects moving smoothly.
  • Navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities with confidence, helping teams stay focused on the highest-value work.
  • Facilitate thoughtful conversations that protect scope, timeline, and budget while strengthening client trust.
Operations + Process Excellence
  • Use Asana, Slack, Google Workspace, and other agency systems to effectively manage projects, communication, and documentation.
  • Maintain organized project plans, meeting notes, decision logs, and client documentation to ensure continuity across the team.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of Mercury’s project management processes, templates, and delivery standards.
  • Support capacity planning, forecasting, and workload visibility through proactive communication and accurate project management.
  • Lead with empathy, curiosity, accountability, and calm under pressure.

  • Collaborate generously across strategy, creative, marketing, and operations to deliver seamless client experiences.

  • Risks, scope changes, and delivery challenges are identified early and managed proactively.
  • Opportunities for account growth are surfaced and shared with the Director of Client Strategy.
  • Mercury’s project delivery processes continue to improve in efficiency, consistency, and
    client experience.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned; leadership will help prioritize workload to align with role capacity and organizational needs.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of agency experience in client delivery, account management, project management, or client services, leading complex, multi-workstream client engagements.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent client projects while balancing priorities, timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to lead complex client engagements by coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with an exceptional client experience.
  • Experience managing Statements of Work (SOWs), including scope tracking, budget awareness, change management, and proactive communication around project health.
  • High proficiency with project management and collaboration tools, including Asana, Slack, and Google Workspace, with a strong commitment to documentation, organization, and transparency.
  • Strong understanding of marketing, branding, creative, website, and digital marketing workflows, with the ability to coordinate diverse teams toward a common goal.
    Exceptional communication and facilitation skills with the ability to lead productive client meetings, navigate challenging conversations with confidence and empathy, and build trusted working relationships.
  • Strong operational thinking and business acumen, understanding how day-to-day project decisions impact client success, team capacity, and agency profitability.
    Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to anticipate challenges, solve problems, and maintain momentum in ambiguous or rapidly changing situations.
  • Collaborative leader who builds trust quickly, communicates with humility, and contributes positively to Mercury’s culture of simplicity, curiosity, adaptability, and shared ownership.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify potential client opportunities and partner with leadership to support long-term account growth.
    Bonus: Experience with CRM platforms, marketing automation, analytics, reporting tools, and agency resource planning or capacity management.
