Responsibilities

Guiding Star Southwest, a division of Southwest Coalition, Inc., is searching for a Client Care Specialist to join its mission in expanding life-affirming medical and birth services for women in El Paso, Texas. As an affiliate of the national Guiding Star Project and inspired by St. Mary, Our Lady Star of the Sea, Guiding Star Southwest is committed to delivering trauma-informed healthcare that respects the whole person by considering a woman’s mind, body, and soul. The organization’s focus spans the full spectrum of women’s health, from puberty through perimenopause, and emphasizes fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and motherhood, while striving to reduce trauma by advocating against societal pressures that may compromise the natural functions of a woman’s body.


The Opportunity

As we expand our core services to include a birth center in alignment with Wholistic Feminism, we are seeking Client Care Specialists to meet with clients daily to discuss Options Counseling and both internal and external critical resources. Must be compassionate, patient, and have a deep understanding of the resources available for expectant mothers.


To be a successful wholistic Guiding Star Client Care Specialist, you should be dedicated and focused on providing top-quality wholistic care and education to your patients, focused on “wholism” or whole-person care which considers a person’s mind, body, and spirit. You should have a strong working knowledge of trauma-informed women’s healthcare, as well as a a patient, caring, and detail-oriented personality. Must be Christ-centered, ready & willing to share their God-given talents with a servant-heart.

What the Role Entails


  • Meeting with clients on a daily basis to build a solid foundation with each individual client, while providing critical resources for the client to use

  • Providing emotional support and guidance to clients while listening attentively to assess their needs and wants

  • Educating clients on available resources and assisting them in making informed decisions

  • Completing and maintaining each clients status interventions provided and diligent follow up

  • Collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals and peer educators to ensure clients receive the best care and support within the organization and partnering organizations

  • Maintaining client confidentiality and privacy in accordance with policies

  • Providing data and reports on a weekly basis to the supervisor

  • Be familiar with all internal programs available to the client as well as external local and non-local agencies that could support the client through multiple stages of her life

  • Establishing and maintaining clear and concise communication with clients to ensure they are well-informed and comfortable with their care plan

  • Actively participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of service improvement strategies.

  • Regularly updating client records with accurate and timely information.

  • Demonstrating cultural sensitivity and working effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.

  • Responding promptly and professionally to client inquiries or concerns.

  • Developing and maintaining professional relationships with external agencies to facilitate client referrals.

  • Continually updating knowledge of industry trends and best practices to provide the most current and effective care.

  • Utilizing effective time management skills to ensure all clients receive timely care and support.

  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of client engagement strategies to enhance client satisfaction.

  • Providing crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed

  • Conduct ongoing trainings as necessary

  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED, associate's or bachelor's degree desired.

  • 1 year experience; 2-4 years desired.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required

  • Must be a professed, faithful, and engaged Christian and be passionately pro-life, exhibiting a reverence for life at all ages from conception to a natural death

  • English and Spanish (Required)

  • Associates OR Bachelors Degree in Social Work (Preferred)

  • Background in Mental Health (Preferred)

  • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Adherence to the teachings in line with Catholic and Biblical principles and teachings

  • Agrees with and is willing to uphold and adhere to the foundational principles in accordance with our Faith and Values agreement

  • Punctual arrival for shifts and duties.
