Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking staff to maintain a safe and orderly recovery environment for clients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include supervising clients, enforcing house rules, conducting searches, and documenting behavior and incidents for therapists. A High School diploma is required, with preferred experience in substance abuse or mental health settings.

Qualifications

• Ability to assess, defuse and bring resolution to abnormal situations.
• Experience with substance abuse or mental health population preferred.
• TB Test and police clearance
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Working knowledge of HIPAA

Responsibilities

• Present a positive, courteous, professional role model at all times.
• Provide safety, comfort, and security by enforcing house rules.
• Regularly perform urine screens, client room and property searches, and document findings in SAM
• Document client behavioral issues and concerns in SAM for therapist review
• Give oversight to clients regarding assigned chores and duties
• Investigate serious occurrences and report to Supervisor and Therapist
• Assist in intake through searching, laundering and inventorying personal property
• Supervise clients during drills and events
• Oversee clients during meals and smoke breaks
• Accompany and supervise clients during activities
• Maintain client sign out sheets
• Report in writing on maintenance work orders
• Clean beds of clients after discharge
• Participate in staff development sessions
