Job summary

Welch, Couch & Company, PA is looking for a Client Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting Services team. You will manage the books and payroll for a portfolio of client accounts across a range of industries, serving as their outsourced accounting function and primary contact.

The role is hands-on, detail-driven, and requires 2+ years of bookkeeping and payroll experience. We offer in-office positions across Arkansas and Missouri with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and GL accounting.
• Hands-on experience with financial statements, GL accounting, payroll processing, payroll tax deposits, and filing payroll forms with IRS/state agencies.
• Accounting degree preferred, significant experience may substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining general ledger accounting and preparing financial statements for client accounts.
• Processing client payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Making payroll tax deposits and ensuring timely compliance.
• Preparing and filing required payroll forms with the IRS and applicable state agencies.
• Reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.
• Communicating with clients on bookkeeping and payroll matters.

We're growing, and we're looking for a Client Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting Services team.

The Role

As a Client Accounting Specialist in our Accounting Services department, you'll manage the books and payroll for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries — serving as their outsourced accounting function and a trusted point of contact. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone who takes ownership of their work and enjoys doing it well.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining general ledger accounting and preparing financial statements for client accounts
• Processing client payroll accurately and on schedule
• Making payroll tax deposits and ensuring timely compliance
• Preparing and filing required payroll forms with the IRS and applicable state agencies
• Reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
• Communicating with clients on bookkeeping and payroll matters

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and general ledger accounting
• Hands-on experience with financial statements, general ledger accounting, payroll processing, payroll tax deposits, and filing payroll forms with the IRS and state agencies
• Accounting degree preferred (significant relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines
• Clear, professional communication skills
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with QuickBooks Online
• Experience with Thomson Reuters Accounting CS
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll
