Job summary

Rodefer Moss & Co PLLC in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager to join our team. This role blends technical accounting expertise with client relationship management and team leadership as you oversee engagements and mentor staff.

You will manage a portfolio of client accounting engagements, guide month-end and year-end closes, review work for accuracy, and advise on internal controls and process improvements while supporting growth of the CAS practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA license preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting, outsourced accounting, or client accounting services experience.
• Experience supervising or mentoring team members.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and cloud-based accounting technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities.
• Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Managing payroll, sales tax, and other compliance-related engagements as needed.
• Identifying opportunities to expand services and strengthen client relationships.
• Collaborating with firm leadership to support strategic growth initiatives within the CAS practice.
• Monitoring engagement budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure exceptional client service.
