Job summary

HLB Gross Collins, Pc is seeking a CAS Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for diverse clients. You will lead the Client Accounting Services team, manage month-end close, prepare financial statements, and ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, deep accounting knowledge, and the ability to mentor staff while delivering high-quality client service and collaborating with tax and audit professionals in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and supervise Client Accounting Services team members to ensure high-quality client service and operational efficiency.
• Complete and manage month-end and year-end close processes, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, accruals, adjustments and financial statement preparation.
• Review monthly bookkeeping and financial statements and coach team members for learning and development.
• Coordinate with tax and audit to facilitate timely and accurate reporting.
• Provide fractional CFO/Controller services as needed.
• Conduct monthly/quarterly financial advisory meetings with clients.
• Assist in budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis for strategic decisions.
• Support senior management on special projects and initiatives.
• Utilize and learn software applications for client needs.
• Participate in industry segment meetings and marketing.
• Mentor and train CAS team.

CAS Manager

As an Accounting Manager at HLB Gross Collins, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of accounting principles, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients.

Essential Functions

• Manage, mentor, and supervise Client Accounting Services team members to ensure high-quality client service and operational efficiency.
• Complete and manage the month‑end and year‑end close processes, including bookkeeping processes, reconciliations, accruals, adjustments and financial statement preparation for dedicated clients.
• Review monthly bookkeeping & financial statements from team members and coach them for learning and development
• Coordinate and collaborate with other departments, including tax and audit, to facilitate timely and accurate reporting.
• Provide fractional CFO/Controller services as needed
• Monthly and/or Quarterly financial advisory meetings with clients
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support strategic decision‑making.
• Support senior management in special projects and initiatives as needed.
• Comfortable using and learning software applications for client needs
• Participate in industry segment meetings and marketing
• Mentor and implement training for CAS Team
• Monthly meeting with direct reports to review billable budget vs. actual, realization and goals

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
