City of Lake Charles is seeking a responsible individual for manual and clerical work related to tools and materials management in the Maintenance Garage. Responsibilities include handling materials efficiently, checking incoming items, and maintaining inventory.
The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and show proficiency in handling basic repairs and reading instructions. A valid Louisiana Driver's License is required, with the potential need for a CDL. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied environmental conditions.
Salary Level: Start: $13.40
Under general supervision, this individual is responsible for the manual and clerical work related to receipt, storage, maintenance, and issuance of tools, materials, and equipment.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License. May require a CDL.
