Receives and processes incoming supplies and equipment, maintains inventory of supplies and completes department billing process.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA (Percent of Time)
Essential Functions: The following are essential job accountabilities and performance criteria:
Position Accountabilities
- Distribution: Receives requests for supplies, selects stock from inventory and distributes supplies from inventory and distributes supplies within departmental time standards (1, 5) 30%
Criteria
- Adheres to delivery standards.
- Maintains appropriate paperwork.
- Enters issues and transfers into the information system immediately.
- Informs Director of delivery difficulties.
- Receiving: Performs receiving function and assists in the movement of incoming supplies (1, 5) 20%
Criteria
- Receives supplies and equipment, verifies description, count and weight.
- Prints receiving document, matches packing slip to receiving document.
- Reports discrepancies to appropriate buyer.
- Inventory: Maintains General Storeroom inventory (1, 5) 10%
Criteria
- Receives supplies, stocks shelves, and fills department orders.
- Verifies computer/actual quantities on hand as requested.
- Safety/Infection Control: Practices according to safety and infection control policies. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) 5%

- Practices universal precautions and disposes of hazardous wastes per established guidelines.
- Maintains a safe, clean, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families/employees in accordance with hospital standards.
- Maintains clutter free environment.
- Keeps conversations and background noise to a minimum.
- Adheres to dress code.
- Reports risk management concern.
- Assumes responsibility for completing all annual mandatory requirements:
- Safety/Fire
- Blood Borne Pathogen
- Hazardous Communication
- TB
- Department Specific
- Age Appropriate Care (if appropriate)
- Service: Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous and respectful manner. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) 10%
Criteria
- Assumes responsibility and ownership in solving problems and resolving complaints.
- Extends apologies as appropriate when service fails, and then takes immediate corrective actions.
- Assumes initiative to resolve problems.
- Recommends changes in practices that increase efficiency while minimizing waste.
- Quality Improvement (QI): Incorporates Quality Assessment into one’s daily work. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) 5%

- Ensures back-ordered supplies become available.
- Demonstrates responsibility for staff meetings.

Job Specifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Preferred supply distribution experience
WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposed to housekeeping /cleaning agents/chemicals. May be exposed to toxic chemicals
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Will be required to push/pull or move/lift heavy equipment and supplies up to 100lb or more. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Prolonged extensive or considerable amount of walking/standing.
