Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a motivated team member for the Laboratory to handle patient registration, order entry for tests, and regulatory compliance. You will support outreach and in-house operations while training clerks and lab assistants. This role requires clinical awareness and accurate data handling in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• Requires some knowledge of medical terminology
• Minimum of one year clerical experience in a medical/patient care setting
• Two years of phlebotomy experience or 1 year in a medical field providing patient care including blood draws
• Experience with hospital patient billing, physician office billing or lab billing preferred
• Clinical lab experience preferred
• Patient registration experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs patient registration and lab test order entry for both outpatient and outreach patient specimens
• Acts as a resource for Laboratory information
• Trains Outreach Registrar Clerks and Lab Assistants
• Provides Patient Order/Registration Audit Support
• Obtains routine and special collection blood specimens following established procedures
• Labels, receives, and distributes specimens in the laboratory
• Ensures quality control, maintenance, and performance improvement indicators are documented
• Responds to inquiries regarding patients

Job Summary

• Performs patient registration and lab test order entry for both outpatient and outreach patient specimens.
• Acts as a resource for Laboratory information.

• Labels, receives, and distributes specimens in the laboratory.

Qualifications

Education

• High school education or equivalent GED.
• Requires some knowledge of medical terminology.

Experience

• Minimum of one year clerical experience required in a medical/patient care setting.
• Twoyear of phlebotomy experience or 1 year of experience in a medical field providing patient care (such as a nursing assistant, medical assistant, nurse technician, etc.) which included drawing blood.
• Experience in supply inventory control preferred.
• Experience with hospital patient billing, physician office billing or lab billing preferred.
• Computer data entry experience preferred.
• Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software preferred.
• Clinical lab experience preferred.
• Patient registration experience preferred.

Compensation/Benefits

• $17.39-$28.40/hr depending on previous work experience.
