The Superintendent invites qualified and interested candidates to apply for the position of Clerk III. The Clerk III will play a key role in school and central office team operations by providing general administrative support and interactions with stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university strongly preferred
- Fluency in English (Bilingual: Spanish preferred)(speak, read, and write; and translate from Spanish to English and English to Spanish)
- Clerical and customer service experience required
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Major roles and responsibilities include:
- Provide outstanding customer service to all internal and external stakeholders, including covering reception and phone duties, as needed, in English
- Manage the administrators' calendar, schedule appointments and events and correspondenceincludinganswering incoming phone calls, emails, and letters (as needed); prepare logistics for meetings
- Enter requisitions and monitor the school/team budget
- Organize and support school or team events, providing oral translation services as needed
- Manage school or team paperwork for field trips, permission forms, etc.
- Translate basic school documents, including permission forms, newsletters, and flyers/posters
- Data processing using computer systems
- Candidate will be required to perform a hiring exercise in English before being deemed qualified and selected for the position. Candidates who indicate bilingual on application will be expected to completed the hiring task in languageindicated to ensure language proficiency.
- Support projects and initiatives in other divisions and departments throughout CCSD on an as-needed basis
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Supervisor's designee

Starting Minimum Salary: $42,697.00
Starting Maximum Salary: $64,050.00
Residency Requirement
Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment. Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire. Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011areexemptfrom this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state. In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed.
