Job summary

Texas Panhandle Centers (TPC) seeks a full-time clerical/support role in Amarillo, TX. You will handle reception for ASCI Amarillo, assist with bookkeeping, data entry, and inventory, and support the director with moderate independence and initiative.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • Performs moderately complex clerical duties in areas such as bookkeeping, inventory control, purchasing, data entry, and accounting in support of the ASCI Amarillo department
  • The position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Knowledge of operating standard office equipment
  • Answering correspondence, reviewing mail, copying and distributing information, checking documentation for accuracy, transporting documents and/or stock and inventory, data entry and word processing, and maintaining files and reports
  • Performs receptionist duties for ASCI Amarillo
  • Serves as backup building safety manager
  • Serves as a backup direct care staff if needed
  • Works under the supervision of the ASCI Amarillo Director with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
  • Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
Required qualifications to be successful in the job:
  • Some experience assisting in the arts and crafts, music, education, recreation, and vocational, and physical or occupational therapy
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE)

Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:
  • Knowledge of ASCI Amarillo departmental practices and administrative procedures
  • Experience with data entry
  • Ability to prioritize job duties and multi-task
  • Work experience as a receptionist and ability to operate multi-line telephone/paging system
