Clerical Specialist III – Transportation Driver

Clerical Specialist III – Transportation Driver (Victim/Witness Transportation Unit)

Location: E.R. Graham Building

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for operating a state-issued van or similar vehicle between various locations for work related errands. The schedule for this position is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Job Responsibilities are:

  • Delivering and picking up mail, packages, records, materials, equipment, and documents upon request, within a 5 miles radius
  • Transporting employees from the State Attorney’s Office and/or the Public Defender’s Office to branch offices for work related travel and back, as needed
  • Transporting witnesses from their place of residence to and from the State Attorney’s Office, within a 5-mile radius, when necessary
  • Performing minor routine maintenance and service to vehicle including checking fluid levels, tire pressures and fuel levels; and ensuring the vehicle is maintained cleaned
  • Taking the vehicles in for preventive maintenance on schedule,
  • Completing route sheets, handling receipts, reading maps and road signs, daily mileage reports and performing related work, as required
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

The Minimum Requirements are:

  • High School diploma or its equivalent
  • One (1) year of general clerical experience
  • Must possess a valid and current Florida Class E Drivers’ License
  • Must meet the requirements of the State Attorney’s Office driving policy including having a clean driving record

The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of the road network and geography of Miami-Dade County
