Job Details

Clerical Assistant Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of clerical functions on the Nursing Unit including, but not limited to:
  • Meeting, greeting, and orienting patients to floor.
  • Answering questions from patients and/or family members, or redirecting to appropriate care team member for response.
  • Transcribes orders; prepares patient chart on admission; ensures that chart is maintained appropriately; dismantles chart upon discharge; prepares diet and census sheets; rewrites medex once a week; prepares venipuncture list; assists in coordinating and compiling statistics as needed.
  • Assists the care team with the discharge process.
  • Answers telephones in a professional manner; distributes mail.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a doctor’s office or healthcare facility preferred.

Salary Range

USD $28.70 - USD $28.70 /Hr.
