Job summary

SAIC in San Diego, CA seeks a cleared Systems Engineer - Hardware Installations to support DoD Acquisition and Navy shipboard platforms. You will work with NIWC, NAVWAR, and PA E Mission Systems to manage hardware installation support and DoD processes.

Responsibilities include coordinating ECR/SCD, translating interface controls to test parameters, and assisting in test plans and DTA planning with OPTEVFOR, while ensuring NIWC policy compliance and CM alignment across teams.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, government technical representatives, and contractors.
• Excellent written and oral communications; ability to brief senior government personnel.
• Bachelor’s degree + 9+ years, Master’s +7 years, PhD +4 years; 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and NAVWAR enterprise tools such as CMPRO, SPIDER, and NDE.

Responsibilities

• Track, update and coordinate with NIWC ISEA and installation managers for ECR / SCD for hardware installations.
• Collaborate with antenna engineering teams to translate interface control documents into test parameters.
• Assist in test plan development including TEMP.
• Coordinate with OPTEVFOR on test events, demos, and lab/shipboard activities.
• Ensure compliance with NIWC policies, processes, and guidance for programs and projects.
• Coordinate with Program Office Configuration Management teams.
• Engage with cross‑functional teams and SCD developers for engineering changes.
• Participate in PMW 120/410 CCM, PTRB, SETRs, and process improvement efforts.
