Job summary

Peraton is seeking a cleared Information Assurance Specialist to join a space and intelligence program. You will monitor cyber events, perform risk assessments, and drive security controls across cloud and on-premise environments.

The role requires a TS/SCI with polygraph, Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT certification, and hands-on RMF/NIST experience with federal agencies. Expect collaboration with engineering and operations to strengthen cybersecurity posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in information security / IA.
• 4+ years of experience with RMF/NIST 800-53 for a U.S. Government agency.
• 2+ years of experience with vulnerability management across networks, operating systems, and software.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Splunk, HBSS, Nessus Security Center; capable of designing user-focused dashboards and reports.
• Current Security+ or similar DoD 8570 IAT certification.
• Must possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, analyzes, and detects cyber events and incidents; conducts risk assessments and audits; evaluates hardware, firmware, and software for security impact.
• Patch management and vulnerability remediation for IT assets; ensure compliance with benchmarks (DISA STIGs, CIS, SCAP).
• Ensure IS and cybersecurity plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures align with IS standards.
• Support the implementation of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Identity & Access Management (IAM) controls.
• Conduct security reviews for third-party applications and vendors to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Communicate with the customer IA team about asset changes and evolving requirements.
