Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled PCB Assembler to join our team in Newport, Rhode Island. The ideal candidate will possess at least an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, specifically in PCB layout assembly (printed circuit boards). This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Location: Fully On-Site in Newport, RI
Work Authorization / Clearance Level: This Position requires the Ability to obtain a DoD US Govt. Secret Security Clearance (Due to the Rules and Regulations and Requirements from the US Govt and our Client – Candidates must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship or US Govt Permanent Resident – If Candidates already have an Active Secret Clearance - even better)
Responsibilities:
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Utilize hand and power tools, soldering equipment, and other assembly tools to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct PCB layout assembly, including component placement, soldering, and inspection, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as they arise, collaborating with engineering and production teams to implement solutions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Adhere to production schedules and deadlines, meeting or exceeding productivity and quality targets.
- Document assembly processes, procedures, and any deviations for future reference and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, with a focus on PCB layout assembly (printed circuit boards).
- Strong understanding of electronic components, PCB assembly techniques, and soldering practices.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Experience with hand and power tools commonly used in assembly processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and industry best practices is preferred.
