Job summary

Griswold Home Care for Southeast Houston seeks compassionate Caregivers to provide non-medical elderly care and companionship in clients' homes within the Southeast Houston area. This role offers flexible hours and shifts, including day and night, with the chance to build meaningful relationships while helping seniors stay independent.

Candidates must live within the service area, have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, auto insurance, and at least 1 year of caregiving

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to client homes within the Southeast Houston area.
• Driver's license and valid auto insurance required.
• Must be 18 years or older and have at least 1 year of caregiving experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 2+ years home care experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical elderly care and home companionship.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care as needed.
• Help with laundry, meal prep, light housekeeping and shopping.
• Maintain client dignity with compassionate, patient support.
• Document shift notes and updates for continuity of care.

YOUR LIFE AS A CAREGIVER

This companionship and caregiving position offersflexible hoursand opportunities to assist seniors on bothday and night shifts. Clients may receive as little as 4 hours of care, while others require 24-hour care.

As a Caregiver, you have the rewarding job of helping seniors live as fully and independently as possible while remaining in the places they love. You competently provide non-medical elderly care and home companionship, helping with various responsibilities such as laundry, grocery shopping, and meal preparation. With the client’s dignity always at the forefront of your mind, you help them maintain proper personal hygiene. You are gentle and professional as you aid them with daily tasks such as bathing and feeding. At times, you provide companionship to clients who have dementia or cognitive impairments. Your kind and patient demeanor serves you well as you ensure they receive the highest quality of elderly care.

You carefully complete documentation for each shift, submitting timely updates. Committed to providing consistent elderly care, you communicate routine… You feel good about helping seniors enjoy their golden years, and you are glad you chose a career in the caregiving industry.
