Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is hiring an equipment engineer to join the Cleans group. You will help establish and maintain world-class process/equipment and drive yield enhancement by solving complex problems and implementing effective solutions.

The role requires 2+ years of experience and a BS or MS in engineering or sciences. Proficiency in Python/VBA and data analysis tools is expected, with strong problem-solving and presentation skills. All positions are on-site in Austin.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science w/3.0 GPA or higher.
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
• Understanding of statistical methods.
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
• Exposure to Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc..)
• Experience with Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.)
• Experience Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues.
• Qualifying new manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinating the scheduling of equipment qualifications and equipment down time with manufacturing.
• Utilizing software to analyze data, identify trends to make decisions about processing product.
• Adjusting equipment parameters as needed when exceeded and monitors process parameters when tools return from maintenance.
• Executing in line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
• Communicating technical information within the department through presentations.
• Continuously revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Developing improved processes to increase capability.
• Monitoring operations costs and develop cost reduction projects.

Position Summary

The Cleans group within Samsung Austin Semiconductor is looking to hire an equipment engineer into their group. • Experience with Change Point Management
• Good Presentation and Technical Writing skills
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles
• Exposure to Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc..)
• Experience with Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.
• Experience Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures
• Ability to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per the SAS FAB protocol and be able to lift < 35 lbs

Compensation

The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

Night Shifts

• B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
• D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
