Job summary

Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon seeks a Cleaning Specialist in Lodge Services to maintain clean facilities, support events, and respond to service requests across multiple mountain sites.

You'll work with staff and guests to meet custodial needs while upholding safety and sanitation standards. The role covers cleaning, laundry assistance, carpet care, trash removal, and restrooms; you may assist other departments and help with setup for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Cleaning experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain facilities in lodges and around mountain areas.
• Assist with laundry and carpet cleaning.
• Empty garbage and wipe down surfaces; clean restrooms, kitchens, and bar areas.
• Collect recycled materials and follow SDS information sheets.
• Follow Lodge Service policies and maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist other departments as needed.

Position Summary

Lodge Services is a detail-oriented, hardworking position. The Cleaning Specialist performs custodial and maintenance duties in lodges and around mountain facilities; troubleshoots, responds to emergency calls for service; implements setup and possibly takedown for a wide variety of mountain and community events; works closely with employees and the public to meet the custodial needs of the area; and resolves problems to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain facilities, following and enforcing cleaning checklists.
• Assist with Laundry.
• Vacuum and clean carpets.
• Empty garbage, wipe down surfaces.
• Clean restrooms, kitchens, and bar areas.
• Collects recycled materials, including cardboard.
• Understands and follows Lodge Service and Mt. Bachelor policies.
• Aware of chemicals used and knows where to find SDS information sheets.
• Follows all Safety matrix topics and helps teammates maintain a safe working environment.

Secondary Function

Assist other departments as needed.

Job Scope

In addition to our wilderness environment, we want to provide an environment of cleanliness at the resort. The Lodge Service staff are responsible for the cleanliness of the resort and are front-line representatives of Mt. Bachelor, given the nature of working in multiple locations across the resort. They have the opportunity to help and answer guest questions. You are expected to complete all your job duties and take the initiative to clean anything that requires your attention.

Interpersonal Contacts

This position is a front-line, guest-facing position, interacting with every department.

Specific Job Skills

• License/Certifications: Current and valid driver’s license preferred.
• Technical: Some hand tool knowledge.
• Physical Capabilities: Able to lift at least 25 lbs alone, 50lbs with help, and remain on feet all day
• Additional: Professional demeanor, guest service experience, and strong communicator

Education/Related Experience

• Minimum education required: High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Minimum time in related position: Cleaning experience preferred

Current Hiring Rate: $19/hour

Schedule: Full-Time & Part-Time
