Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Clean-room technician in Houston to disassemble, clean, and reassemble aerospace components under strict cleanroom standards. You will log data, tag items, and support inventory while ensuring safety and quality in a high‑profile space environment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to see color differentiation when using ultraviolet light. Requires occasional climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. Above or below ground level, hearing with or without correction, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting and/or crawling for 1–30 minutes at a time, reaching for, handling and manipulating objects and materials in all directions. Requires frequent lifting up to 20 pounds from ground level and waist level, carrying up to 20 pounds for 20 yards, coordinating eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, standing, seeing with or without correction. Requires the ability to follow set procedures and standards, plan work and select proper tools, follow written and oral directions, plans and blueprints, picture and evaluate solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked, and recognize and report safety hazards. PPE and suitable clothing for a clean‑room environment must be worn; a respirator may be used when filling or using chemicals.

Work Environment

Typically a cleanroom environment with exposure to various noise levels caused by power tools, machinery, equipment, etc. High noise area in the ultrasonic cleaning area.

Equipment and Machines

Operate and maintain chemical vats, pumps, ultrasonic cleaners, compressed air, purified water, wash tanks/sinks, ultraviolet lamps, magnifying lenses, and other visual inspection tools. Use flame ionization or other volatile detectors, particulate controlled equipment such as vent hoods, flow benches, Millipore, etc., and heat‑sealing machines for bagging/wrapping. Computer workstations and peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, and print documents. Other office machines (printer, fax, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is critical. Must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must exhibit professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk or hazard to the employee or others.
