Job summary

The T.E.A. Center in McLean, VA is looking for a dependable Cleaning & Housekeeping Assistant to keep classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas clean and sanitary.

You’ll help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for children, families, and staff, and support daily activities with attention to detail. Responsibilities include restocking supplies, following health and safety standards, and aiding with setup for events.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning and housekeeping.
• Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment around young children.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and empty trash throughout the school.
• Clean and maintain high-touch areas and surfaces regularly.
• Help keep classrooms and shared spaces neat, organized, and ready for daily activities.
• Monitor and restock cleaning, restroom, and sanitation supplies.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Properly use and store cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Assist with cleaning and setup for school events and activities as needed.
• Report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns promptly to management.
• Support the overall cleanliness and appearance of the school throughout the day.
